Mark Grant

Principal Consultant & Executive Coach

Mark is a senior leadership facilitator and executive coach. Prior to this he worked in the Australian merchant and investment banking industry, with six years at CEO level. He returned to university to study gestalt psychotherapy and has for the last 15 years brought his lived experience as an executive as well as his deep understanding of human thought, feeling and behaviour to his work. Mark balances support and challenge so that his clients truly develop the perspectives, mindsets and skills they need, and enjoy the learning process.

Mark’s work and program design is grounded in contemporary leadership thought and research. Using frameworks so clients can conceptualise, offering experiences so clients can deepen their understanding, and facilitating dialogue to ‘unpack’ both, Mark enables clients to ‘map’ their learning onto their own circumstances in ways that are meaningful and practical. Mark’s style is conversational and professional such that clients transfer their learning into the workplace.

In fifteen years of practice he has worked with a broad range of private and public sector clients including, Accenture, Anglicare, The Australian Institute of Sport, ANZ, Cenitex, The Ministry for Higher Education (Malaysia), Herbert Smith Freehills, City of Melbourne, NAB, Perpetual, Transurban and St John (New Zealand.)

Mark is passionate about supporting people to fulfil their potential. In his work he enables people to expand their knowledge and personal understanding of approaches to leadership – Horizontal Development. Significantly in the contemporary workplace where executives are typically highly skilled, Mark assists clients to reflect on themselves and recognise habitual patterns of thought, feeling and behaviour, such that they develop a clear perspective on their own leadership – Vertical Development. Working one-on-one, in small or large groups, with intact teams or people drawn from across an organisation, Mark assists his clients to expand self-awareness in service of leadership and to develop an effective executive mindset.

Mark is accredited in The Leadership Circle and is a member of GANZ (Gestalt Australia and New Zealand.)
